Creative Dance Art Sessions

Dancers that Become Artists

Dance Portrait Art

Dance Portraiture

Dance is more than movement.

It's years of early mornings, sore muscles, determination, and the courage to express yourself without saying a word.

Every leap, every turn, and every quiet moment between movements tells part of your story. My goal isn't simply to photograph beautiful poses—it's to create artwork that captures your passion, your strength, and the artist you've become.

Whether you're celebrating a competition season, graduation, a professional career, or simply the joy of dance, we'll create portraits that reflect who you are and the journey that brought you here.

Because one day, long after the music fades, these photographs will remind you not only of how you danced... but how it felt to dance.

Dance Portrait session checklist

Get Ready to Shine

Your dance portrait session is about more than beautiful photographs—it's about celebrating your artistry, dedication, and passion. A little preparation will help you feel confident and allow us to create images you'll treasure for years.

✔ Bring More Than One Outfit

Pack two or three dance costumes or leotards that represent different styles or stages of your journey. Variety creates a more dynamic gallery.

✔ Fresh Hair & Makeup

Professional hair and makeup photograph beautifully, but it's not required. Keep makeup slightly more defined than everyday wear, and bring a brush, hairspray, and touch-up products.

✔ Clean Shoes & Pointe Shoes

If you're wearing ballet slippers or pointe shoes, clean them beforehand if possible. If they're beautifully worn from years of dancing, bring them anyway—they're part of your story.

✔ Accessories

Bring any meaningful accessories:

  • Warm-up sweater
  • Dance skirt
  • Jackets
  • Team apparel
  • Medals or trophies
  • Flowers
  • A favorite costume
  • Musical instrument (if applicable)

✔ Stretch Before Your Session

Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early to warm up and stretch. Flexible muscles make jumps, extensions, and turns feel more effortless.

✔ Hydrate

Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your session. Staying hydrated helps you feel your best.

✔ Get Plenty of Rest

A good night's sleep helps you look refreshed and gives you the energy needed for an active session.

✔ Bring Someone to Help

A parent, friend, or dance teacher can help with outfit changes, fixing costumes, and encouraging you during the session.

✔ Trust the Process

You don't need to worry about posing. I'll guide you every step of the way so you can focus on dancing and enjoying the experience.

Lets Plan a session

Before We Meet...

Think about what dance has meant to you.

What moment do you want to remember?

The years of practice?

The excitement before stepping on stage?

The confidence you've discovered?

Your portraits aren't just about perfect technique—they're about preserving this chapter of your life, because one day these photographs will remind you not only of how you danced, but of who you were during this incredible journey.

Think beyond the pose.

Is there a location that tells your story? A favorite theater, a mountain overlook, an old downtown street, or the studio where you've spent countless hours? Choosing a place with personal meaning makes your portraits even more powerful. Twenty years from now, you'll remember not only how you danced, but where your journey unfolded.
